My lecturer has been a really detailed lecturer, pointing out and emphasizing the salient points. He does have a sense of humour, which is vital for classes like these. It also means that I never fall asleep when he teaches. His passion to groom future planners & financially savvy people is obvious, and I am very glad to have a lecturer as such. The execution of the topics reflects it not only as a figures and academic subject, but as a real life checklist of things we need to know.
"I feel an important topic on Financial Management is missed out in today's formal education curriculum that covers Language, Math, Science, Home Economics and Social Studies etc. Many people complete their formal education without learning some practical skills on how to manage their money or are equipped with skills like:
- How to work out a budget
- How to evaluate and select appropriate insurance coverage for themselves
- How to save and invest their money
- How to prepare for retirement
- Calculating the true cost of a major investment (purchase a car, a house etc)
The skill sets and information needed to answer the above questions are actually covered in the CFP® Module 1. It gives all students a broad-based understanding of how various financial instruments and markets work, how to evaluate between different investment or loan options, a good overview of the various types of insurance and their purposes etc.
Therefore, I would highly recommend this course to anyone who would want to invest in his or her financial future.

The CFP® Certification is one of the most sought after financial designations. I believe that all financial professionals should strive to achieve it. The classes are the perfect platform for people who are new to the industry. The study materials that FP provide are also easy to understand and grasp. FP's lecturers are friendly and are willing to help you understand the study materials and your queries. Most of all the staff at FP are very approachable. With FP's help I am sure anyone can pass all 6 modules in their first attempt!

I have enrolled in the CFP® program during my Year 3 in Polytechnic and I met many professionals in the financial planning industry who are studying the program. To me, this speaks much about the recognition of the certification in our local banks & financial institutions. What benefited me most is the relevant and practical knowledge gained through this program.
Ms Peh Rui Xiang / DBF (Banking) graduate 2012 /
Just like any graduating students, I began to seriously ponder about my further education and career choices towards the end of last year. Besides Banking and Finance, I have diverse interests in other areas like philosophy, mathematics, economics, law, etc. This decision was made easier for me after I decided to enrol in the Associate Financial Planner (AFP) course conducted by Financial Perspectives. Through this program, I gained a better understanding of the challenges and career prospects of financial planners in the wealth management industry.
With the successful completion of the AFP examination, and my good results in the Financial Planning module, my course mate Yap Siang Pin and I were awarded the Associate Wealth Planners (AWP) scholarships. This scholarship will enable us to complete the next level of certification. I would like to give special thanks to Financial Perspectives Pte Ltd for their sponsorship, as well as my lecturers for guiding and helping me to achieve the AFP designation. Now that I have completed the AFP, I am looking forward to complete the Associate Wealth Planner (AWP) certification and finally to become a full-fledged Certified Financial Planner (CFP). I would sincerely recommend this program to fellow DBF students who are keen to develop their careers in wealth management.
